Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

Easily, the worse car experience I’ve ever experienced. Predatory pricing to say the least. Always another issue and excuse as to why my car wasn’t ready. I was the first car in the shop for a service that I was told was going to take about 4 hours. Then, 7 hours later, they need another “part” and more money. Horrible customer service from top to bottom.

🚨 BEWARE!! 🚨 This Pep Boys will try to scam you. I made an appointment online and specifically selected the tires I wanted, which were on sale with a Buy 4 Cooper AS, Get the 4th Free + Free Installation promotion. I even called the day before my appointment to confirm they had the tires in stock, which they confirmed. I dropped my car off on Thursday and picked it up on Monday, only to find out they had put completely different tires on my car. The tires they installed were about half the price of the ones I selected and had 15,000 fewer miles of tread life. Ken then tried to convince me that the tires they put on were “just as good” and that I should just keep them because they were cheaper. After arguing with him, he finally said they didn’t actually have the tires I ordered in stock and wouldn’t have them available for another four days. So now I’m without my car for an additional four days, all because they failed to communicate. At no point did anyone call me to let me know they were swapping out the tires I specifically ordered for completely different ones or ask if I wanted a different brand. They simply installed cheaper tires and apparently hoped I wouldn’t notice.

Excellent customer service. Staff was very knowledge, professional and explained things to me. Great team of experts. Including the technician. Thanks Pep boys.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a service center. After paying them $1,000* I picked up my car and after 48 hours it was the same issue again. Brought back to them and informed that it’s the same issue but with an add squeaky noise. Keep in mind after I picked up my car the first time I only drove it from the shop to my place. When I brought the car back they told me the technician that worked on my car is no longer there and they hired a new and he found a some new issues along side the previous one. They wanted to charge me an additional $2000. After I picked it up the second time there’s two new issues that came up. At this point they might as well be a Take 5 because Auto Service is not something they seem competent at.
